Unforgettable experience: My wisdom teeth

During my last year of college, I began the process of growing wisdom teeth. Two years later, I had all four of my wisdom teeth fully grown. As advised by the dentist, I had all four of these teeth removed because they were all growing in misaligned positions.

I have a fear of tooth extraction especially wisdom tooth extraction, although I have never done any wisdom removed before, because of the fear of the pain of the paining during and after the procedure.

Today, I learned few new English words thanks to the official BBC Learning English Channel on YouTube.

Here is something that I have learned:

1/ “Prince Harry has begun his life’s work – by turning up in court when he didn’t need to be there.”

Life’s work: the thing you dedicate your life to achieving because you care so much about it.

In Vietnamese: Prince Harry đã bắt đầu công việc cuộc đời của mình - bằng cách xuất hiện tại tòa khi anh không cần phải có mặt ở đó.

2/ “Prince Harry Clashes with daily mail in UK snooping Lawsuit.”

That means that he is having a fight with them, and it is about this issue of snooping.

Snooping: looking for private information in a dishonest way. Snooping can go with on like someone is snooping on celebrity or it can be used with about or around like that man is snooping around.

In Vietnamese: Hoàng tử Harry va chạm với Daily Mail trong vụ kiện về việc xâm phạm quyền riêng tư tại Vương quốc Anh.

3/ Prince Harry show he is not bluffing in vendetta against Daily Mail owner.

 That means a long relationship of hatred and the word they want to discuss is bluffing.

Bluffing: threatening to do something you’re not really going to do.

Today I got to hear many stories. The story is about a friend of mine who returned to his home country without completing his studies due to unforeseen circumstances. Those circumstances arose from his own carelessness, but because of his exceptionally high sense of responsibility and gentle nature, to the extent of naivety, he decided to go back home. The beautiful love story of two friends from university. They've been together for 2 years and are about to have their wedding in September. I only just found out today that they've been a couple for these past two years; my friend has kept this secret all along. I think there's something I should learn from my friends, which is to limit sharing personal plans until things are about 80-90% certain before opening up about them.

Today there were things that made me very sad.

Our beloved summer

Our beloved summer is currently my healing spot. This show aired in 2021 on Saturdays and Sundays, and I watched it on Netflix. At that time, weekends were so special to me because of the show. Due to the time difference between Korea and Vietnam, the show aired in Korea 2 hours before it did in Vietnam, so to avoid spoilers, I had to stay away from social media before the show was released on Netflix. The story focuses on Choi Ung and Koo Yeon Soo. They were a couple from high school to university, but then they broke up and lost contact for six years before meeting again. Koo Yeon Soo was a top student in school, and after graduation, she found a job and worked day and night to earn money for living. Of course, this is not a bad thing. Her job is something many people dream of, but compared to being a top student in school, this job seems nothing special. First, when I ran to see the address at Alley 42 Ho Hao Hon Street, I ran a little further on the left-hand side and found the café. As I entered, I noticed that the outdoor space was quite small. So, I thought the interior space might not be much larger than what was shown in the clips that people reviewed on TikTok. When I went inside to order food, I found that the ground floor space was not too big, with tables and chairs placed close to each other. I was given a menu to choose from, but as I had just come in from the hot sun, I didn't pay attention and accidentally hit the wooden cover of the menu against my lip, which was quite painful and caused a salty taste on my lips, indicating that it might have caused bleeding.
