Exploring hidden corner: I
visited Bạc Xỉu Café on Nguyễn Trãi Street.
Today, I visited Bạc Xỉu Coffee
Shop. The café is in an apartment building right on Nguyễn Trãi Street.
The space in the café is quite
small, and I estimate that it can accommodate no more than 40 people. At the
time of writing this blog, there were around 22 people in the café, including
the staff. It is not particularly quiet here (from the perspective of someone
who comes here to work on deadlines and study), as there is some laughter and
conversation. The music playing is not instrumental but rather light and upbeat
contemporary tracks, at an average volume. One more thing, due to the small
size of the café, when the baristas prepare beverages, it can be a bit noisy.
Please note that here they do not
accept card payments. You can pay in cash or make a bank transfer. Using mobile
payment apps like Momo is still acceptable.
The café has a small balcony that
can accommodate around 3-4 tables. I think it would be wonderful to sit on the
balcony in the evening and enjoy the street view.
The café has large windows that
let in plenty of sunlight, making the interior quite bright. I choose a seat by
the window so that when I get tired from working, I can occasionally look
outside and enjoy the view. Although my sight is somewhat obstructed by the
balcony, I can still see the blue sky, white clouds, buildings, and the
refreshing greenery of trees, which is quite relaxing.
One interesting yet embarrassing thing for me is this. I was sitting in the café for a while when two foreigners entered and sat right in front of me, starting to speak in English. I must admit that despite my efforts to listen, I couldn't understand a word they were saying. My listening skills are even worse than that of a preschooler. It's truly embarrassing.
